Inspiration and a kick in the ass.  I've been doing some rough sketches from source photos I've gathered online, but that's practice.  And, honestly, my heart's not in it. So if you're reading this and you want me to dance for your amusement, suggest something I might draw.  Take a look through my gallery first, if you want an idea of my usual style and subject matter.  Otherwise, let me know....

I found this site this evening - Posemaniacs - which is a great place for practicing your anatomy and poses.  It's got 30 second exercises, negative space....  It's all in Japanese, but that doesn't really matter. Maybe this'll get me back on track.

Something I've discovered - being unemployed just kills the drawing mojo.  It seems like I keep putting it off until "later," whenever that is.  Since there's no constraints on my time, there's no incentive to get things done now.  So in the time where I should be ripping through sketchbooks like a madman, I've really done very little. Ah, for structure.  I'll have to start looking into self-discipline....

That's what I'm looking to achieve. I've noticed that a lot of the artists I like seem to use no more lines than they absolutely need, where as my work is still rather... messy.  For example - here's a Legion sketch by Mike Weiringo.  Very clean, really nice.  And this sketch of Mon-El. That's where I want to be. Mind you, Mike practiced his art for ages.  I've been grinding out work for six weeks, after a hiatus of several years. Patience.  Must remember patience.  And practice.  Lots of that.
